Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. celebrated the ‘Hindi Fortnight’ from September 14 – September 28, 2016 across all its offices, units and establishments. A number of events were organized during the fortnight to create general awareness amongst employees and promote the use of Hindi as Official Language. The Pakhwara was inaugurated by Mr. Prabal Basu, Chairman & Managing Director, Balmer Lawrie and he urged all employees to do their official work in Hindi. Guest of Honour for the day was Dr. Arun Hota, HOD of Hindi Department of West Bengal State University. During the opening ceremony a quiz in Hindi was also organized for the employees. During the fortnight, employees participated in various events like Hindi e-mail writing competition, Hindi word writing, extempore and song competitions with much enthusiasm. A Hindi library at Kolkata Head Office was also inaugurated during the Fortnight. The fortnight came to an end with a Hindi Natika and prize distribution to the winners.
